My name is Cathy and I love photography…
I grew up in Antwerp and I still live here and I love it. But I also adore other great cities, such as Barcelona and New York. Travelling is my passion, so you will find many pictures from the trips I’ve done so far in my portfolio.
Ever since I was a child I was always running around with a camera. Back in the days I took photos of almost everything. Especially the young ducklings in the nearby park were (in)voluntary models for many of my childhood photos.
The first time I realised I might be a good photographer was during a school trip in Italy during sixth grade. We visited ‘la bocca della verita’ in Rome and everybody took photographs of this magnificent artefact. But when we got back home and we were exchanging and ordering photos from ours friends, everybody wanted my photo of ‘la bocca’ and so I had to go to the picture lab and order 77 copies of that particular picture. The man behind the counter looked at me puzzled, but I was buzzing with pride. Later on I enrolled in a few holiday classes at the Museum of Photography in Antwerp. During ons of those classes ons of my photos was chosen to be put on the wall in the museum. I couldn’t have been happier.
A few years ago I’ve decided to become a more professional photographer, so I enrolled in evening classes and purchased my first digital Nikon camera.
I love taking on assignments and making wedding or other photos, especially in the outdoors. I strongly belief in getting to know the people in front of my camera, because it is an investment that will create better photos.
